Introduction:
Dr. Amos CHEUNG is currently a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Social Work and Social Administration, The University of Hong Kong. Before joining the University of Hong Kong, he has worked as a clinical psychologist in the Hospital Authority. Amos is both trained as a clinical psychologist and a social worker.
Amos is well versed in working with the depressed and anxious across all age range, with families facing issues of death and bereavement, and the mental health issues specifically related to the geriatric population. He also has expertise in conducting neuro-psychological assessment and forensic evaluation. Amos is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Focusing Therapy (Person-Centered Therapy), and Satir Model Family Therapy.
Dr. Amos CHEUNG is the ex-president of the Hong Kong Psychological Society (2013-2014) and the current Chair of the Division of Clinical Psychology, the Hong Kong Psychological Society (2014-2017). He is also the current president-elect of the Hong Kong Psychological Society (2016-2017) and will be taking up the president position again in the coming term.
